Gold Hoop Mandarin Charm Earrings

Apricot Charm Earrings – Handmade Polymer Clay Jewelry Inspired by Summer Fruit

This piece is part of my summer fruit collection, inspired by all the fresh flavors and colors of the season. These charms in particular were designed to capture the bright hues and citrusy freshness of mandarins. The design draws inspiration from holidays spent in Spain, where mandarins slowly ripen under warm sunlight. I wanted to create a wearable reminder of these gentle, simple moments.

How the Earrings are Made

Firstly, I create the mandarin charms using bright orange Sculpey Premo polymer clay which I use for its sturdiness. One earring features the peeled back inside of the mandarin while the other the whole fruit. The charms are textured and indented using tools, while white acrylic paint is used to create the details found on real mandarins. After baking, the charms are covered in a clear glossy varnish by Darwi. This not only protects the acrylic paint but also adds a soft shine, making the mandarins feel lively and bright.

Inside every charm, I embed a gold stainless steel pin for strength and durability. Then, I attach the charms to gold-plated stainless steel hoops. These hoops are light and comfortable to wear all day long. Additionally, the warm gold color perfectly complements the orange and white hues 0f the mandarin charms.

Since I make each charm by hand, you may notice small differences in shape and paint details. Therefore, every pair is unique and carries a bit of handmade charm that makes it special.

Care Tips

To keep your earrings looking their best:

• Avoid water, perfumes, and harsh chemicals, as these can dull the varnish

• Store your earrings separately to prevent scratches or damage

• Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth when needed

• Handle with care since polymer clay is sturdy but can chip if dropped
